Chocolate Lava Cake

Ingredients:

  • 200g dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • Cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • Ice cream or whipped cream (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease 4 ramekins with butter and dust them with cocoa powder.

  2. Melt the chocolate and butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chopped dark chocolate together in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.

  3. Mix the batter: Whisk the powdered sugar, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and stir to combine. Add the flour and a pinch of salt, and mix until smooth.

  4. Fill the ramekins: Divide the batter evenly into the prepared ramekins.

  5. Bake the cakes: Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still soft and slightly wobbly.

  6. Serve: Let the cakes cool for a minute before carefully inverting onto plates. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
